Stoystown is a borough in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA. It has a population of approximately 500 people and covers an area of just over 0.3 square miles. The borough is located in the southwestern part of the state and is part of the Johnstown Metropolitan Statistical Area. It was named after a local sawmill operator named Peter Stoy. Stoystown is located close to the Flight 93 National Memorial, which was created to honor the victims of the United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed on September 11th, 2001. The borough is also home to several historic sites, including the Stoystown Milling Company, which is the oldest continuously operating business in Somerset County. Today, Stoystown remains a quiet and peaceful small town, with a strong sense of community and a rich history.
